Making Adjustments - August 5, 2009

posted Aug 5, 2009, 10:11 AM by Steve Datema
So how are you doing this week?  On Sunday we were challenged by God's Word to remember that when God's calls you to follow Him that often times there are some major adjustments in our lives that need to take place.  Remember the rich young man in Mark 10?  Jesus called him but he was unable to follow because he simply couldn't give up what meant so much to him - his wealth.  It had become an obstacle in his walk with God.  On the flip side, remember Elisha in 1 Kings 19?  God called him and he literally burned his bridges behind him and followed the Lord.  Here we have two completely opposite reactions.  One left sullen, the other faithfully followed.
So, again, how are you doing this week?  Has God given you an assignment which means making some adjustments in your life so that you can be found faithful?  Just remember, any adjustments needed are for your own good.
I hope you are having a GREAT week!
