Crazy Theology

I've always wanted to do a sermon series on Crazy Theology.  I think I'd begin with this one:  God will never give you more than you can handle.  People use this statement all the time and many are certain that it is a verse from Scripture.  But it isn't.  That statement is not Biblical at all.  Some claim it is found in 1 Corinthians 10:13.  But this passage is all about temptation - God will provide a way out of the temptations we face every day.  He gives us the chance to follow Him - but so many times we choose otherwise.  Paul states in Romans 8:12, "Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation" - but that obligation is not to sin.  Simply put, we do NOT have to succumb to sin any longer.  We can live the victorious life today all because of the Holy Spirit.  My friends, take heart, listen to God's leadings, and live that holy life.
